Stair risers for the dog

Sometimes the dogs feet slip off the step when going into the TT so I made these risers. I had 2 pieces of steel cut, painted them black and added hinges to them. I bent the hinges slightly to make them hard to move so when they were in the up position the riser would stay put. Added white electrical tape to the front edge of the step so she could see the step better at night. Going on 2 weeks now of camping and they work great.

very nice.
I remember the last dog's Nail getting caught in the little holes in the stairs.
Not fun.

For Buddy no problem with the stairs.
I found at Canadian Tire, A set of folding white stairs to get him in and out of the truck and back end of the car. then it folds right down and slides in right behind him.
It saves my back.

My Mattie has always been uneasy on smooth, bare surface steps. She is clearly more comfortable at home on the carpeted stairs coming up from the front door vs the linoleum steps going to the basement. So I bought some carpeted tread covers for the steps on the trailer. While a little leery about doing it, she is definitely more comfortable having the carpet covers on the steps.

Our boxer was hesitant about going in or out of our GH at first, but now seems ok with the steps. Lazy dog still won't get in the truck or wifes' mini-van w/o being picked up and placed in either vehicle tho.

Lazy dog? Sounds like he was smart enough to train you well!

Those Rv steps can strain any size dogs back and do some damage over time.
Come to think of it my knees hurt!

My Mini Doxie dislike the stairs so I made a ramp....it is also easier for me when I had too much sitting around the campfire adults beverages....staggering up stairs is harder then up a ramp.

How about pics of the ramp. Need to make one before we head south in Jan. One of our dogs is 13 and his rear end struggles getting up steps. He's a big guy so we can't pick him up. Hoping to come up with something that is both sturdy and light. Has to handle our weight too. All Ideas appreciated.

Here's my ramp and I have a steel step attached at the top to lower the angle of approach. The ramp is from Petco and it has a sand like finish on it but the dog can't get a good footing so I glued carpeting on it. The clip to attach to the car is cheap plastic so I changed it out for a chain and steel clip and did it right. I put fabric on the steel step so it wouldn't scratch the bumper.

I have steps for the back bunk also and they can slip in and out but can stay in place when I close the slide. The grand kids 5-6-8 like using them also and they make an extra seat when it gets crowded.
