Steadyfast Install.

SteadyFast: 5th Wheel and RV Trailer Stabilizer

I had bought this for a previous RV, and traded it for the new one before I installed it. So this went onto our Whitehawk 32 dsbh last weekend. It took about 6 hours total, and this is without any rushing.

A couple of prep points.

#1. I ordered 2 - 3/16 and 2 - 17/64 Quality (american made) "screw machine length" drill bits, and a 5/16 course Quality (american made) tap from Zorotools on ebay. I bought this stuff because the frame on my Keystone was an I - beam and was pretty thick, I figured I would need all the help I could get. The LCI frame on my Jayco was thinner however. I still would have gotten the 3/16 bits, as the short bits (screw machine length) are much easier to apply pressure (the don't deflect or break nearly as easily as regular jobber length bits).

#2. The LCI frame is narrow and requires the use of the "Locking Bracket Brace". Due to the frame thickness several of the bolts used to mount it to the frame stripped, and I ended up buying bolts and locking nuts to use instead.

Basically followed the instructions here:

Here is a bad drawing of how I choose to install it do to stairs and slide outs being in the way.

I chose to order 2 extra footpads so they all matched. The Steadyfast foot pads are much bigger and stronger than what my Bal Jacks came with, I think it was a good choice.

Job was easy, nothing was in the way and because Jayco doesn't really fasten the bellypan tight I could easily run my finger in and see nothing was going to get dinged.

It makes a heck of a difference in the shaking when the kids move around the RV. From sea sickness to minor annoyance at worst.
