Question stiffer hydraulic assist for master bed

All,
I read under this forum that someone had upgraded the hydraulic lift cyliders for the master bed (from 100# to 120#). Does anyone have part numbers or such?

I want to extend the length of the matress board by ~6" so I can add a foam pad at the head of my short-queen matress - and not have the matress hang off the end. BUT I will need heavier hydraulic lifts if I want to get into the underbed storage safely.

Before you go and buy new(stouter) psi cylinders.Try relocating them towards the front of the bed further.2-3 inches might be all that's necessary to obtain the desired effect. You will have to move all 4 ends of both cylinders forward the same amount. Its along the principle of leverage.Imagine a 20# sledge hammer .Jab the handle end into a hip bone and run your arm at various lengths along it.As your arm gets further to the head,it effectively becomes lighter.Move your arm towards your hip bone and it becomes heavier. Its still a 20# hammer manipulated by the leverage point. Its worth a shot.

Great suggestion, fredbear! Since I added a 3" memory foam mattress topper to my bed, the current struts/location just doesn't keep it up. Was considering upgrading them, or adding a 3rd. Your sledge hammer analogy was spot-on. I'll be moving my struts this weekend. Thanks!
