Toolbox and cover
Howdy everyone -
I finally got around to mounting my toolbox and putting the cover on the trailer this past weekend. I got the toolbox idea from this board (thanks mach8247!) and it has worked out pretty well. I ended up getting a 70" UWS side-mount toolbox and am able to keep quite a bit of stuff in it. The battery is now inside the box, and there is room for another one day when I add a second battery. I'll take some closer pictures the next time I go out to the storage place. I had to move the propane tanks forward an inch or so, and because of this, I can't use the hard cover that came with the trailer. I need to go pick up a vinyl cover (anyone need a hard cover???? I tried to trade them at the dealer, but no dice).
I also put my Adco cover on this weekend and am very pleased with it. It fits very well and is surprisingly easy to put on and take off by myself. Hopefully this will help the camper to stay looking new for a long time!

Texas make sure you keep that thing very snug... and COVER THEM TIRES.. I would worry more about tire rot from the uv than covering the rest of the RV

I've got the tire covers, but didn't put them on yet since we'll be using the trailer in a week. Not sure exactly where in the lot the trailer will be stored mostly, but hopefully I'll get a spot between two other trailers to help keep the sun and wind off of it for the most part. I'll be keeping the cover on it anytime it's not in use though to help protect the outside.

I hear ya. The 29BHS and dimensionally identical 28BHS like mine have heavy loaded tongue weights, especially for our half ton trucks.

Glad I could help, Texas! Enjoy the extra room. I was actually able to move my lp tanks forwards another 1/2 inch to be able to use a plastic cover. The vinyl covrs weather very quickly.
Good luck. Nice job on the toolbox.

I tried squeezing the hard cover on the tanks, but it's a no go. I plan on keeping a tarp over the toolbox and LP tanks during storage anyway so that the toolbox stays nice and shiny, so that should help keep the vinyl tank cover in good shape for longer.
The extra space is awesome! I'm able to keep all of my trailering stuff in the toolbox instead of in the camper. chocks, jack, leveling pads, etc. It sure helps to make extra space for the fun stuff! I'm going out to the trailer tomorrow to winterize; while I'm there, I'll take some better pics of the toolbox setup.

That is a great idea. I am keeping this in mind for when we trade in this 5er.
