Chris, great write up and great mod. Liked the idea of the switch where you put it and did you use industrial Velcro to stick the controller to the lid?

This is awesome. I would like some more information on how the lights are mounted, as my trailer does not have awning LED's so this might be better for us.

Yes if you look at the pictures of the wiring in the battery box lid you will see large ring terminals, they are connected directly to the battery. The switch is to cut power to the system when not in use and there is an inline fuse as well.

Yes just industrial velcro to mount the controller and RGB amplifier in the box lid. That stuff is strong. I had to pull the controller out to move it and almost broke the controller before freeing the velcro.

This is the LED strips I used. This is one of the items I sell on my website. You can buy this same system all over ebay.

The amplifier is another item I installed because the little controller is only able to safely power 30 feet of LED rolls. The amplifier will allow you to power up to 80 feet. I have a roll and a half on each side so a total of 45 feet.

I will take some under trailer pics today.

Here are a couple quick under trailer pics. Basically I stuck the strips in the lip of the frame rail. The strips shin directly down. Just be sure to clean that frame very well or the strips will not stick worth a crap. Denatured alcohol, wipe it down multiple times. Then I took the hot glue gun and put a little blob of glue over the strip every 4-5 inches for extra hold. Check them periodically to make sure they aren't falling.

Chris, I really like the looks of the lights. How difficult is wiring in the controller ect.? What I am asking really is, are the instructions easy to follow with drawings to follow ? I am very wiring challenged. Thanks in advance.

This is really spectacular. I am in the process of adding a 12v LED dimming controller. I am just going to tap into the wires on the back of the awning LED switch.
