Valterra T58 Twist-On Waste Valve
The waste plumbing design on my Jay Feather 24T was not well thought out. I have 3 tanks - 2 gray and, 1 black water. There is a gate valve right at the drain of each tank - 3 gate valves total. There is a lot of plumbing between the 3 valves and the sewer hose 3" bayonet fitting. When I remove the termination cap to connect the hose at the dump station, there is always about a pint of liquid that comes out. It makes a mess. I purchased the Valterra T58 Twist-On Waste Valve to connect to the bayonet fitting at the end to add another gate valve to the system. It made for a great resolution to the issue.
Quick Fix & Bonus
It was a quick and easy fix that also had an added benefit. We have 2 gray tanks, and the kitchen tank always get full before the bath tank. Now I'm able to keep the 2 gray tank gate valves open which, in effect, combines the 2 tanks into 1 large tank.

I may need to do this on my hybrid. It seems there's always a little seepage when I take off the cap.

I agree, the Twist on valve is an essential tool for my sewer aids. It has come in handy on many occasions. I also use it on my blue boy to make it easier to control dumping the small tank.

Sounds like a defective unit; I'd send it back and get a new one. Have not had a problem with mine at all.
Two thinks I like about Amazon:
1. - If they don't have it, you don't need it.
2. - no questions asked returns.

I have thought about this solution as well, but I am a little concerned about keeping them on all the time. Do they stay on while traveling?

I am honestly more worried about losing the $20 or so per valve, and I need two for my FW. Would you recommend maybe a little gorilla glue when putting them on?

That's up to you. Glue would make it a done deal. You couldn't ever take it off. I REALLY don't see if popping off.

I would not leave mine on. I had one break once when the slide came in and hit it. It can be rotated when connected.
I know some that leave them on and use caulk.
I don't.

On my fiver (and my previous fiver), I put a small stainless steel screw at the fitting "notch" so that it cannot be removed unless the screw is removed. I leave mine on all the time, but of course, my configuration may be different from others that may need to be removed as necessary.
The OP stated the one biggest advantage to using one of these is to combine both gray tanks which means I can take more showers before dumping . Great little invention!

+1, I drilled 2 small holes in mine and screwed it in-place. Stays on all the time now.

Been using the Valterra gate valve and clear elbow since we started RV'ing. The guy we purchased our first trailer from was a great teacher. And the clear elbow is most helpful during the 'tank flush regatta' to determine when the black tank is adequately cleaned.
