Water softener

Has anyone used an RV water softener? Any suggestions?

Great! Is it permanently attached or do you hook it up between your supply and the camper? What brand is yours?
Thanks!

The one we have is a portable one, it is a Travel Soft. We got it at Camping World years ago. At the time we was going to South Texas for the winter and had a washer/dryer in the rv. Now we are older and do not go south any more and have downsized and only camp for a couple weeks a year, so most of the time we leave it home. (No washer/dryer)

I don't have a washer/dryer but only use lake water to pump into the camper where we camp. With that there are no suds when washing your hair and my wife says dishes are hard to clean so that's why I'm thinking of getting one.
Thanks!

You use water right out of the lake to put in your camper?

Yes,
Horseshoe is a beautiful lake with about a dozen primitive camp sites managed by New York State. It's a first come with no amenities. We like the seclusion of having no one next to you. With my solar panel and water pump we can stay weeks on end. We bring our spring water for drinking and use lake water (filtered through cheese cloth) for showers.

I do that too depending on the lake.. but then you never drink from your RV taps anyway so really no big deal..
