97 Days to Retirement!

Sorry, but I have to bloviate about it! My retirement is 97 days away and I can't wait. When I started my job, Reagan was President; Rite Aid was Thrifty's; Mervyn's and Gemco were around; to lock it, you had to hold the car door handle up when you closed it; no such thing as personal computers or laptops; no such thing as cell phones, let alone smart phones; clear plastic cassette tapes were cool; MTV actually played music videos; TG&Y''s were disappearing; air conditioning in cars were optional; I could eat like a horse and not gain weight; ON tv and SELECT tv; Kodak and Polaroid; etc, etc, etc... Can't wait to hit the road in the Seneca!!!

And you locked your house with a skeleton key just like your neighbor.
Enjoy your new life of freedom from the clock.

Congrats! It's a great feeling to be retired, I retired from my job and man I'm I glad at first when I did retired it felt like that I should be getting up and going to work but then I realize that I'm retired now and I just laugh at myself. June 1 I would have been retired for three years now and it is sweet.

I punch a time clock for 35 years on my job but no more and I'm so glad so enjoy your retirement and stay busy.

Understand the feeling! We are 18 days out from our retirement date but who's counting LOL!!! Each day leading up to it feels like Christmas and your birthday all rolled into one. Already lining up the trips in our 2 week old 17 XFD.

Congratulations! You will love retirement.

I retired just about 4 years ago. My wife retired today.

I think MY retirement, as I know it, ended today!

Congratulations. We are retiring on June 30th. Have our 23MRB ready to go. Trying to talk my wife into just leaving; spin the compass and then start driving. Try to find a place to stay and then stay for a few days. The next place will be "decided" by people at the campgrounds who tell us they know a good place. We'll go try that one next. Great way to start my retirement, the only thing I will need to do is drive.

Congratulations! I retired six years ago and Monday is still my favorite day. I can just lie in bed while the town collects my garbage. You'll find weekday camping is much less stressful than having to camp on weekends.

I retired last year and the bride and I took our first "leisurely" paced trip. Every day was Saturday except Sunday. It was grrrreat!
Then, I was offered and accepted some contract work. Grrreat again, I work a few hours a day and it's free money, right?
Not so much. Each day now has a unique name and only one of them is a Saturday.
Then I remembered: A job? Oh yeah, I had one of those for many years so at some point I wouldn't have to have one.
Now I'm looking forward to the end of this project like I was looking forward to retirement.
I can't wait to get there, again.
