Looks spiffy buddy, you're ready to go.
Very nice looking rig.
Post some interior pics when you get a chance.

Thanks Brian,
I'll be posting.
Hopefully I won't have to reach out for help, but if I have to I know where to come.

Enjoy your trip too.

Kind regards,
Doug

By my calculations (combined TT Weight, Cargo, Passengers, etc) we are at the top of the published Towing Capacity. Volvo doesnt see it that way - In the documentation, they dont count TV payload. That said, the published tongue weight of the TV is on the light side (250# Tongue weight for trailers 2,600# and up). Our TT tongue weight is over 300# so we use a lighter WDH when travelling (but I use a standard hitch taking it back and forth to storage). In the pictures above, its hooked up to a std hitch. It feels soft (a little bouncy) without the WDH. With the WDH, it has a very confident feeling and it pulls well.

The owners manual gives specific guidelines for long, heavy towing (dont travel more than 1 hr when temps exceed 85 degrees, etc) and the transmission has a temperature gauge.....so I'm confident in the set-up.

For us - we use common sense. We know we're loaded close, so we avoid extended trips, high speeds and long trips through the mountains. That works perfect for us.

I must say - we get lot's of stares and smiles as we pull into the campgrounds

Thanks for asking exJay!

Hi Brian. The Volvo pulling a camper is something you don't see everyday. What kind of mileage do you get with it while towing?

WOW....you had to work a lot harder than I did! Do the gel-coat sides get black streaks, bed685?

Three butchers, I'm not sure what you are referring to by gel coat sides, but it was a pretty straight forward wash and wax job with no real issues.

I was assuming gel coat finish is what Jayco uses on it's smooth side TTs. Take care.

Is that a Dish tailgater on the roof? Is that permanently mounted on the roof? If so, how is it mounted?
