Colorado/Utah Trip, 2012

My wife Dawn and I took a great trip from the People's Republik of NJ to Colorado & Utah this past summer. Here are some pictures of our Jayco in its natural environment. Unfortunately, I didn't get any pictures of the trailer in Utah -- wish I did.

First Overnight Stop in Illinois. We stayed hooked up to the TV and got an early start the next morning:

Salida, CO in the 4 Seasons RV Park. We got a spot along the Arkansas River -- gorgeous!

Great pics Joe (and Dawn)! Congratulations on the marriage! Do you have any trips planned this summer/fall?

Thanks. We have a bunch of smaller weekend/long weekend trips planned this year to Vermont & Pennsylvania. We are already planning for next year's Colorado/Utah adventure. It takes us time to build up the vacation time to do a longer trip.

Our first trip out there was in our Fleetwood Popup. Needless to say, this trip was a bit easier and much more comfortable with the hybrid.

Where did you go in Utah? We are leaving this coming Monday headed for Northern Arizona, Southern Utah and Southern Colorado.

We drove from Durango to Moab and stayed there for 5 days. Absolutely beautiful scenery and fantastic mountain biking there. Then we started back home via Fruita, CO and Golden, CO.

We are heading to Moab from the Monument Valley and will be staying at Dead Horse State Park just outside Moab. This is the part of our trip that I am looking forward to most.

Dead Horse Point is stunning. The view is just incredible. It is a bit outside Moab driving-wise (30+ miles) but, as the crow flies, it is fairly close.

We stayed in Moab proper at the Canyonlands Campground, which was conveniently located across from the Moab Brewery. :hihi:

There were some really neat looking campsites along the Colorado River. You would be boondocking, but it would be really nice for a night or two. You can't beat the scenery of the red rocks and the river. Next time, we might do that for a couple of days.
