Our New 2015 Eagle 284BHBE

Just picked up our new 2015 Jayco Eagle. Our 6th trailer in 33 years. Too bad we will not be using it until the Spring.

Congrats! What is the GVWR and how is it pulling with the 5.7 L Hemi? I see the 2500 has a 4.10 rear.

The GVWR of my 2015 Eagle is 9250#s. Dry weight from the factory is about 7200#s. My Ram 2500 from the factory has a GCWR of 20,000#s, less the weight of the truck, yields about 13,250 tow capacity. This number will go down as I load my truck, but the worst case of a fully loaded trailer @ 9250#s, there is still plenty left.

So far, I only pulled the trailer less than 50 miles, with about 30 on the NYS Thruway. I like to tow at about 60mph and my truck pulled it without a problem. My first long trip will be in June going from the Hudson Valley NY to Nashville with a one-way distance of 950 miles. This will be the true test of truck/trailer combo. Most trips before will be short 150 mile trips

The trailer I traded for this one was a 2009 Eagle Superlite 256RKS. Fully loaded it was 7450#s and my Ram 2500 didn't even know it was behind me.

Nice trailer set up. but the truck always feels the trailer back there. Especially when you get to a hill. I had a Ram 2500 with the 5.7 and loved it. But for towing you cant beat a diesel for towing. Best of luck with your new trailer it is SHARP. Wonder why they went back to white on the Eagle. And I am not dogging your truck I LOVED my Ram 2500. It was even the same color as yours.

Jayco went back to the light color because they had too many problems with the dark brown fading to a gray color.

There were lots of issues with the brown fading. I understand Jayco was repainting lots of brown front caps under warranty. Key is to keep it waxed with a good wax to filter out the UV from the sun.

The jury is out on the windows right now. We took delivery of the trailer on October 10th, did the PDI, winterized and towed it to where we store our trailer for the winter. Truthfully on our last two TTs we rarely opened the windows. If nothing else the frameless windows look good.

Strange... My 2015 284BHBE still has the brown cap...

By the way, I have a 2014 RAM CC 5.7 with 3.92 and it tow really well! It has a lot of power, even on long uphill!

Hope our brown cap doesn't start fading, warranty just ended in Aug. We do enjoy our Eagle, like some of the new features they have now.
