Solar Shade at RV Park

Here is something I found interesting:

At the Lazy Days RV park in Tucson AZ, they have over 2 acres of shaded area that are made up of solar panels. They take the electricity that they create and sell it back to the electric company.

So they are providing a nice shaded area for the campers and at the same time generating electricity with renewable resources. Cool idea.

Very cool, indeed. I'll need to plant that seed into the owner of my storage yard.

Stayed there for the last night before the run to Mesa for the winter. It's a beautiful, clean, only a few years old park. A little high priced but real nice.

This was a Lazy Days park for a long time. Dec of 2013 it was purchased by KOA Corp. I believe it was in 2015 that they, in conjunction with the local power company, installed the solar system One issue is if you use your onboard TV antenna it may or may not work , since the panels block much of the sky.

Not sure if they still operate the full service restaurant / bar that use to be there or not. It is a very nice urban park, paved streets etc.
