165 floor rebuild

back with some pics of my project. about 20 plus hours in. most walls gone, bathroom gone , some floor cut out. biggest pain is clearing the small pieces out from under the wall. everything is stapled down through the floor when first built. have to take out water heater, and ANYTHING that's in the way of the floor to wall edges. I may skip the tub and shower surround, and put in a platform to cover the pipes and wires, and a sink instead. couldn't remove fridge walls, as there is too much passing through, and it's built heavier. also I may have to use osb again as I think 3/4 " plywood may be a slightly different thickness. check out the view from the trailer door...white pieces on bath wall are just tape left from surround.. what looks like a stain to the left of vent pipe is mirror reflection.everything but the floor is in nice shape in my opinion, it's all caused from the putty not being sealed around the top edge of bottom body moulding. we also had 9 feet of snow last winter which may have melted and run in. previous owners live a few miles from me. I think the damage is 5 or more years old.

You're going hard at it. Can't wait to see the final product. I chickened out, actually sold mine today, so no bathroom remodel for me this winter.

Stick with it! How are you getting around in there without falling through the barrier?

haha good question. I have smaller strips of 1/2 " plywood ,16 inches or so that I can lie on. I can see the outline of the metal frame, and it's small enough that I don't have to span too great a distance to be on one of the floor supports.....and I drink my beer AFTER I've worked on it, not before

haha thanks is that a round about way of saying I'm crazy ? the whole front floor is up and out, ready for plywood. the whole other end is next. about 4 ' by 7'6 . had torrential rain today and not one leak at all. I thought it was coming from around the wall bottoms, but nothing. when I get the floor in and can walk around, I'm going to re-connect the plumbing and look for leaks.

Not knowing what's going on with the roof I'd go ahead and recaulk all the seams. This need a to be done every few years and look at condition of roof coating. Hate to see all your hard work ruined by some bad caulking in a year or so.

yes i'll be checking all of it. in order to get the old floor out, I had to remove all exterior screws on the side mouldings, and others coming up from the bottom. the floor has swelled from 5/8 to about 1 1/4 '' so it doesn't just pull out...all this led me to actually removing the mouldings and putty too. I may still find out that some of this is from plumbing leaks too. before it goes back together i'll connect all the plumbing back together and look for leaks. on the roof I'm tempted to just remove the AC and cut the soft part of the roof like a book and replace the soft part. it seems dry under there now. the roof unfortunately is laminated luan then foam board, then 1/2 '' ply on the inside. so removal of one layer won't be easy.

ecksdude..thanks .the worst part is lying down sideways to scrape the old floor out from under the wall. not much room, and there are no seams in the floor. it has to be carefully cut to not go too deep and hit the metal frame. I think I'm going to use 5/8 ac or pts plywood. once the floor is
in it will be easier I think.....I take that back..65 years old worn out carpenter for 49 years, and still working...nothings really easy haha
