2012 jay flight 184 bhs

Wife and I just upgraded from our 1996 camplite pop up to a 2012 JAY FLIGHT 184 BHS. Excited about making camp setup easier, I think my son who is 4 is more excited about the bunk bed :-)

The wife is already thinking about mods on the inside of the trailer (Got the itch with the pop up a few years ago)

About the only mods I plan on doing to the outside of the trailers is taking the scissor jacks that I installed on my pop up and putting at least two of them on the front of the trailer. The other mod I would like to do, but wondering if any else has done this or has pictures is I would like to add another propane tank on the tongue, I don't necessarily want to have both of them hooked up, more of a place to carry a second one so I can remove it to use my weber grill when camping or if need be in the middle of night when I run out of propane I can easily swamp the hose to the other tank.

Before you mount the scissor jacks, play around with the positioning. The "sweet spot" for my similar TT was about midway between the wheel and the front of the camper. I'm rock solid now.

Following is a link to the thread / discussion.

Good Luck!

thanks for the advice THREEBUTCHERS, Think I'll stick with the scissor jacks for now, I already have 4 of them, I put them on my pop up. 2 1/4 ton jacks Just need the snow to melt so I can get out there and take them off.

I also have a 2012 184BH. I bought 2 of the same jacks that were built into the back, and I installed them up front. I love them and I'd do it again. I put sand pads on all corners and I have not had any problems. My camper also has no sway at all.

I use a BAL leveler and the 4 stabilizers. Rock solid. I bought the stabilizers off amazon.com

Congrats on you new trailer. We came form a 1207 popup to a 185RB, my wife missed the popup for about 6mo after we bought the 185RB. All that being said we love our trailer. If I could make one suggestion, get yourself some Maxxair covers. I put 2 of them on mine, the best 50.00 I ever spent on that trailer.

So here's a question, looks for so recommendations on some must need essentials for the trailer (fresh water hose, extension cord....) Trying to get a list together of what I might need to have on hand before the first trip of the year.

Here are the items I have in my trailer... But I have been told that I travel heavy. I also use the G.E whole house filter instead of the Camco water filter. That is why I have all the hoses.

1) 25 foot fresh water hose
1) 50 foot fresh water hose
1) water pressure regulator
1) G.E whole house water filter and extra cartage
2) 10 foot Fresh water hoses
1) Rhino sewer hose and misc fittings
25) foot 30 amp ext cord.
1) Flush King
