A different Swift AC drainage problem

Here it is: No drainage.

So you know the small Swifts have a side mount AC unit. It sits on a shelf inside the RV, with a metal pan under it, surrounded by wood trim.The condensation just pools under the AC unit, on the pan.

If the RV isn't level, water would run INSIDE. After camping, when we drive home, the motion causes some water to slosh inside, making a mess.

It appears that the AC unit should have been installed on a slight angle toward the outside. Not sure if I can fix it myself, or if I need to take it in for a repair.

You can peek through the gap just between the AC unit and wood trim on the bottom of the unit. Water pools in there.

We had a side mount (actually mounted in a lower cabinet near the floor) in our 17' Casita. I dont' know why, but the tt did not cool in 100 degree weather. We bought a new a/c and still seemed to not cool well.The newer Casita's had a roof mount and the owners with the roof mount were delighted with their roof mount a/c's and ability to cool the trailer.

Anyhow, besides the pan, just curious how well these side mounted a/c's do in extreme heat for Swift owners

We were out for the weekend in 95 degree heat, high humidity, and we kept comfy with the AC just below its highest setting. Very pleased with its performance!

SOmething I noticed...our A/C looks different than yours...on the bottom of yours, you can see into the bottom of the AC...ours you cant, it has an extra kind of pan....I can take a picture of it if like.

after using my ac i run right side up on a wood block. it drains the pan out before we leave.

I know this is an old thread but I have a 2011 145rb and just last weekend had my first real issues with leaking from the AC. Can you send me a pic of yours so I can see what the new tray looks like?
