antenna crank leak
Last night it was raining when we set up at the cg. I cranked up the antenna and notice water on the crank handle and in the rotator ring. It wasnt a lot and the first time it ever occurred following a pretty wet summer, especially the past couple of weeks.
I cranked it back down, made sure it was in the stowed position and dried the water with a paper towel. It was still raining when we went to bed. This morning I dont notice any moisture. I will get on top and look but only a month ago I was on the roof inspecting seals and caulk and did not notice any problem anywhere.
Thoughts, suggestions?

If you look in the antenna mfg manual, there is a maintenance procedure for lubricating the o-ring seal. This may be the source of your leak. It will also include the type of lube to use.

There is a small plug that gives you access to put a few squirts of silicone spray. Also spray in on the gears and around the movable edges a few times a year.

Also, if your TT is still under warranty I would take it in for an inspection to confirm that it isn't anything above and beyond required owner preventative maintenance like 'north' mentioned.

After you mentioning it, I lubed mine this morning as a precaution.

Thanks for the tips. This is a new to me TT and while I have been reading all the manuals a lot, I didn't know about the lube on the antenna.
I discovered that the rubber boot over the coax was raised off of the hole where the coax goes through. I pushed is back down and placed some silicone around the top. I am thinking that was the source of my very light moisture; however, I will be lubing by gears tomorrow - Thanks!!
I am thinking I am way behind on this TT maintenance but trying hard to address everything. The TT is a 2012 but was only used a season and I don't think the previous owners camped in it much, much less any maintenance. There are not a lot of problems but I am trying to make sure I catch it up.

I need to lube mine. Never did it, and it's been 4 years.
