I'm off to the Oregon Coast. Fridge stocked with beer, 2 adults 2 kids 4 bikes 1 boat 2 motors and a partridge in a pear tree.
I've been looking forward to this trip for months.

I made it to Oregon. What a horible drive. I first took my trailer through the Rockies in Canada without any issues. I drove the I5 to Oregon and I had to fight to keep my trailer on the road. I have decided to buy a sway control hitch. Does anyone have any recommendations?
I like the Anderson very expensive
I also like the the Equalizer (no chains)

Water leak
I had a water leak under my sink too, (me to) and it looks to be following the supply lines going to my kitchen faucet down to where they touch the drain pipe. My wife found water on top of her cutting boards. We emptied the cupboard to find the linoleum wet under the sink. Suspect it is the same issue. How did you reach up in there? Do you have two elbows ?😆

I'm back from the Oregon Coast. I cannot believe how bad the roads are there. I have never needed a anti-sway hitch before, but I wish I had one on those roads. I've only been home 2 days and I went out and bought the Anderson hitch 3380.
I also damaged a stabilizer on the rear of my Tt. Has anyone raised the suspension on their Tt to get more clearance?

But ... but ... our taxes are lower! Yeah!
To be fair, much of the coastal highway is on ground that routinely moves, so it's been patched and filled many times over the years. That's not excuse for the other roads around here, of course. Last time I drove across the border to Vancouver, it was noticeable how much better the roads are. In my experience Washington's roads are even worse than Oregon's.

I am looking into raising my suspension. I have read that dexter axle makes a kit and Jayco has one supposedly.

Suspension clearance
So here is the kit and how to raise your x213. This is a very easy job. Look hear http://www.dexteraxle.com/torflex_lift_kit
Their are different height options. Kits include everything you need. Make sure you have good slack on your brake wires, you may need to extend them. This kit gives 3" more clearance. No more damaging stabilizer Jacks and better flow when draining waste tanks and drain is less likely to bottom out. Only draw back is the fold out step is higher now.

That kit wont work as the X213 axle does not attache to the frame in the same way.
I made up some plates like in the attached and raised mine 5 inches

So raising the trailer with a lift kit doesn't impact handling at all?

The kit I showed by Dexter did work, I had to modify a couple of holes but super easy.
Raising the trailer doesn't affect your handling unless u don't re-adjust your weight hitch if you have one.

It'll make it slightly more prone to tipping when turning, and it will have slightly more air resistance. But the X213 is about 3 inches lower than all the other Jay Feather models to begin with, so I'd guess it's not a big deal.

They must have changed the frame and axle mount cause mine bolts to the side of the frame. It would have been way easier to be able to buy a kit instead of making it, but then again it did not actually cost me anything more than my time.

Has anyone does a water pressure tank mod on their TT yet? I was playing with the fresh water system and the pump runs pretty much constantly if water is running. I was thinking a pressure tank could help out a little here. Is it worth the weight/cost (I'd guess about $50 for the materials).

Another suspension lift
I helped my buddy raise his x213, instead of buying the Dexter kit we copied mine. How ever his is much stronger then my kit but over kill for the x213.
Also I added my Andersen hitch very easy install. Here are some pics of the lift kit we made and my unit with the 3" lift and Andersen hitch.

I made a couple measurements last night which may [not] be useful to anyone else:
1. My converter pulls about 200W when charging a battery depleted to about half. This might be the maximum draw, I have not heard it any louder. Power draw slowly drops as the batteries fill.
2. My Dometic 13.5K air conditioner pulls about 1100W early on (after the initial inrush of course), then climbs steadily until it stabilizes at 1330W.
Guy across the street from me has the same A/C on a different brand, and we tried running it off his Smarter Tools 2000W (1600W sustained) inverter generator. Worked for about a minute, then tripped the overload breaker. I have not tried ours on our 2000W (1700W) Champion generator yet, but maybe I will just to see what happens. I don't know for sure the guy across the street has a 13.5K -- it's externally identical to ours, but internally his uses wall-mount controls where mine is ceiling mount. Maybe his is 15K, and that would explain why it tripped the generator. It's also possible his batteries were depleted and therefore the converter was pushing the generator over the edge.

Very Useful!
A 15A charge rate from the on-board unit sounds about right.
I plugged my camper into my Kill-A-Watt and fired up the A/C on high. It's a coleman unit from the factory. It peaked at 2KW- I'm sure it was drawing more. 2KW is the max my little device could measure. Interestingly enough if I accidentally plug in my TT with the AC on max - it blows out the surge suppressor it was plugged into! I won't do that again.

I just ran the microwave for a short time and it makes the little champion generator work, but it did not overload. Converter was running too. Don't have my killawatt with me however so cannot say what the load is. Camping now, just drove out a ways to let my phone pick up anu messages.

Fresh water tank
Hey
In 10 days we are leaving on a New York to the Grand Canyon, Brice, Zion then home again.. Prob about 6000 miles.
My question is when traveling I don't want to carry a lot of water but I have 2 daughters and a wife.. How much water do you carry for bathroom breaks on travel days?
Also just curious will carrying water reduce tongue weight in the x213
Thanks
Tom

I've never measured TW with a full tank of fresh water, but the tank is above and maybe a little behind the rear axle so it ought to help a little. I don't notice any change in driving dynamics when towing with a full tank aside from feeling the extra 350 pounds or so when I'm dragging it up a hill. I don't habitually leave it 100% drained so there has always been enough for bathroom breaks -- not a lot of water needed for that .... usually.
