The top of the slide will be a little wet inside the trailer for your trip home, but you wont have water dripping or anything.

If you camp under trees make sure to sweep any leaves or other junk off the slide before closing
I bring my battery operated leaf blower now to blow off the slide roof before closing

Funny you say that. I was looking into those 3lbs $20 mini leaf blowers (corded) on eBay last week. May buy one but had another thought, which would help on rainy days...

Have any X213 owners ever added a slide out rolling cover? I see Carefree has a couple of options in their "Acsent", "Kover", and "Slideout Cover" lines. A leaf blower is cheaper, but these would be a no worry, never need to think about it, option.

We tried to get a slide out cover added to our X213 but were told there was not enough support on the back to hold it in place. I'll be interested if anyone has been able to install on the X213

Our dealer said it was possible. But I wasn't interested. What trailer covers do you guys use?

We usually crank the trailer up in the front to allow the water to run off the slide out before we slide it in.

Also, I shove the picnic table beside the slideout and stand on it to brush off the slide before we slide it in. 5 years and no water inside.

Hello there fellow x213 owners,

Has anyone had the need to lock the cargo/bottom bunk door in such a way so that it cannot be opened from the inside?

We're trying to figure out the best sleeping arrangements for our kids, and the concern is with the toddler being able to open that door.

We've though of a few different ideas, from covering the latch on the inside with a piece of wood or some other obstruction, or modifying the either the deadbolt or handle in a way to disable them from the inside. By the looks of it, the handle seems to have a pin that might operate somewhat like the pin that holds a watch strap on - I may be able to tap it out and take the main handle off.

Looking for some other potential solutions we may not have thought of before I start fiddling... thanks all!

Also wondering is any of you have put up a gate or barrier of some kind at the bunk entrances to make them more like a crib than a bed? TIA.

I always hesitate at disabling an exit. You never know what situation you might be in, you may want that door to be operable from the inside.

We had some of the same fears with our young kids on that bunk. We never showed them how to open the door. They never tried turning the red lock and pulling on the handle. Now our kids are old enough to know not to touch it.

What about some sort of hook/latch that you can screw in at the mattress level? The kids won't know that it is there, since the mattress is hiding the hook and loop, but in case of emergency you can still unhook it.

We have our toddler sleep with us on the King. No worries about the door or falling off the bunk that way.

Well that makes it a bit tougher!

I'd probably just lay a pillow down at the bottom so it blocked the handle from view but wouldn't hinder the use of the door in an emergency.

For the bunk, I wonder if the IKEA Vikare bed rail would work. It won't block a child in or keep them from getting out, but it would stop them from rolling off the bed, if that's what you need. I've got 2 at my house so could check this weekend if they work on the bottom bunk if you think it would be helpful.

Our 213 came with a combination light & fan which fits onto these clips and plugged into a socket on the main ceiling. I believe it was stored under the sink.

Looks like the one. It will hang vertically from the clip on the top or horizontally from two clips on the back. We don't use ours often, instead I have two of those little l.e.d. lights that clip on baseball caps attached to those ceiling mounts.

My manual says that I can use the City water connection to fill my tank... Is this true? I'm not seeing a by pass. If not the tank fill is on the passager side which would mean you have to either use a hose or go through the filling station backwards. Am I missing something?

No, the one you linked to won't work. Those will only work in PUPs and maybe hybrids. I had 2 for the last 9 years. They go on the Shepherd's poles in the tent ends. And they mostly suck anyway. In ours, the washers always came off the screws of the black clips and we'd have to take the light apart and find the pieces inside and screw it back together so the black clips wouldn't fall off. And bugs got in the lights. And the fan mostly does jack squat.

I think these are the ones you would want https://www.etrailer.com/p-RVFL51.html They have a different clip that is closer together. And I think it works on the metal rods as well as the Shepherd's poles.
