Anyone tow x23b or like with F150 ecoboost?

My car was totaled today, looking at options for new TV. Our x23b is on order today. Anyone tow with an ecoboost engin?

The only thing that makes me nervous on that is the tongue weight on the receiver is 500lbs according to http://www.ford.com/resources/ford/g...rv&tt_f150.pdf

I know mine runs over 600lbs. I'm pulling with a 3.0 TDI Touareg and it does pretty well with it, but my tongue is around 750lbs. Otherwise the V6 looks rated fine for the overall weight. Never tried it though.

You should be more than fine with that choice. With WD hitch you have plenty of towing and tongue capacity.

500 lbs is weight carrying, with WDH the receiver is rated to 1130 lbs. I don't see any issues with this combo. Personally I would want Max Tow, Max Payload and 3.73 that way you have some room to move up TT should that itch need to be scratched.

The way I read that is without Weight Distribution Hitch the max tongue weight is 500lbs (10% of Max without it) and with WDH, up to 1,130 (again 10% of the max recommended tow weight). I've been looking at this model as well for a possible upgrade for our 2003 Expedition and for the F-150 to get the tow weight numbers up and with it the max tongue weight, the Max tow package, with the 3.5L Ecoboost V-6 (or 6.2L V-8) and 3.73 Limited Slip Differential are must haves. There is also a max payload package that ups that number and additional 500lbs if you are going to be packing the truck up with people and stuff in the bed.

If you go to Ford's web site and do the configure and build on the F-150, you can play with different cab and package options in order to get a customer build one with these options and have to say that finding the max tow package combo on a dealer lot is not that easy around here. If we are able to move on a new truck, we might have to custom order or go out of state. Ford does a good job of allowing you to see the window stickers at local dealers on their web site. Pretty cool, but wish I do a search where I could filter on the max tow package. As long as you get the WDH with the trailer it should not be a problem exceeding any recommended specs for your trailer.

I just picked up a F150 ecoboost FX4 with the max tow package. I only have 300 miles on my truck, so no towing the x20e yet. However so far really like the truck, the low end torque is incredible. It's very cool with the integrated brake controller and the tow mirrors.

I've towed our 22FB from Texas to Maine and back with the EcoBoost and it towed like a dream. Average MPG was around 11.2. You should have no problems with the F150 EB. It's been a great truck!
