I got a marine circuit breaker at West Marine (so I could eliminate the fuse) and bolted it to the side of the battery box. The outlet box above is a 12v plug for my mascerator pump or other 12 accessory ...

Had the marine type installed in the storage area on the front wall. That way it is secured when the trailer is not in use.

I have the battery switch installed on the 4x4 junction box mounted on the front of the trailer ( Eagle 322fsk). I removed the cover plate, drilled mounting holes for the switch, Run my fused wire to the switch and installed a #10wire and spliced all my connections except the breakaway switch to this wire. I then installed a plastic thermostat cover, keeps the "road" water away, and additional protection while in storage.

Work well not more dead batteries.

I installed mine in the battery compartment. I wanted the switch to be in a locked area because I have a power jack and did not want anyone goofing with the jack while in storage. To be honest it is probably the best place to locate it.

I don't have a picture handy but I picked up a switch from Northern Tool for around $10. Drilled a hole in the side of the battery box and mounted it there. It take a key to enable/disable and there's a cover on the switch to keep out moisture. For a simple mod, it does what I needed it to do.

I installed a simple knife switch directly on the battery's positive terminal. Doesn't get cheaper or easier than that.

Do you have to take the web strap off and remove the cover on the battery box? I guess if you don't have a battery box, you don't

My trailer is parked in front of my house. Because of that I have a chaing wrapped around the battery and the propane tank as a theft deterrent. Anything I can do to minimize opening the box is welcome. So I mounted a switch on the box itself.

I was under the impression that batteries can create "explosive" gases. Was always told never to lay a metal tool on the battery because accidentally shorting terminals could create a spark and explosion. If for no other reason, would not be in favor of putting any type of switch that might spark inside of the battery box. I also notice that when jump starting a car they tell you to hook one jumper cable to battery, and the other to a ground somewhere in the engine compartment but not on the battery.

Battery boxes are designed to let any gases vent.

If you are talking about pulling the fuse to disconnect the battery, it's inline on the positive side close to the battery.

Ok, I knew about that fuse. I thought he was pulling a fuse from the control panel in the camper itself. Makes sense now....thanks for clarifying.

That's the one I was talking about. Simple, no extra cost.
