Cool Brought Home New 23MBH!

Finally got to bring home our new trailer. Yay!

Delivery:
Picked up from the dealer yesterday afternoon. Great experience, informative walk-thru! The person that did the walk-thru wasn't the regular guy but did a great job. Very knowledgeable since he has worked at this dealer for 16 years and is an avid 5th wheel camper as well, so he could share a lot of tips from his actual experiences trailering and traveling. This was really fun. We ended up using up our full two hours and then some asking questions and getting info on travel, placed to go and tips for the road. This got us even more excited to get on the road!

Towing:
The dealer installed an Equal-i-zer brand 90-00-1200 (12k) WDH with 4 way sway control. He said it would make some noise on the trip (popping and squeaking when moving slowly and while turning or backing up) which it did. The trip home was pretty awesome as this was my first time towing a TT. Truck pulled the trailer easily! Ride was mostly smooth and the TT actually glided over bumps better than the truck. Our trip home was about 1.5 miles and included side streets, highways and interstate. Only issues we had was when we hit the interstate (I94 coming into WI) at around 60-65 MPH we got some up and down bobbing that I felt was pretty excessive and am not sure why as we towed the whole way before then w/o issue. Was it the spacing of the slabs of concrete causing this? We got off on some country highway roads and all was good again. Other then the bobbing, a great experience overall!

Getting Home
Backing into the spot we planned to put it in our driveway I had it perfectly straight on the first try only (yay me) but then my DW who was guiding me said "hold up, I don't think we'll clear the basketball hoop". I get out and sure enough, 10 ft rim and a taller than 10 ft trailer. Not going to work. So, we put it on the other side of the driveway and It's kind of in the way but will have to do for now. I may need to take down the basketball hoop. Sorry son :/

First Night
My son had a couple of friends stay overnight and give the camper it's first test. We had to run the heat as it got to below freezing here last night.

To wrap up, what a great experience and we are so excited! All this talk about the places we want to go makes me believe the adventure/fun has only just begun!!

Congrats on your new TT. We bought our 2015 Whitehawk 23MBH last summer, We Love it, and used it just about every other weekend through the summer. We had our first weekend out for this year, about two weeks ago.
Many Years of Happy Camping!!
