Camping without a sewer hookup

Why have a 30 foot carpeted palace on wheels to not use your own shower and toilet? That's why I upgraded and bought a camper with a shower and toilet.

OK, I have to ask a question, and excuse me if it sounds "Newbie." (But I am a newbie to Jayco.)

On my Keystone Outback, the kitchen sink and the shower both emptied into the gray tank. The toilet and bathroom sink both emptied into the black tank. Is this different with Jaycos? An earlier post suggested the kitchen sink emptied into the black tank.

I have 80 gallons of fresh capacity, but only 30 gallons each for gray and black waste. My Keystone had 50 gallons of fresh and two 40 gallon waste tanks (gray and black). Seems odd having 20 gallons more in the fresh than can be dumped down the drains.

We do the same. It does help both the grey and black tanks.

My Eagle 5er has 95 gal fresh, 35 black and two 35 grey. One grey is galley the other bathroom.

That seems strange to set it up with those capacities. You would obviously have to dump before the fresh tank is empty, so wouldnt most dump stations have a fresh water fill? I dont know, maybe I'm missing something. Edit: just saw TWO greys, sorry

We went for a long weekend with 3 adults and 3 kids and 40 gallon black and grey tanks. No showers just dishes and hand washing we got the grey to 2/3 and the black only hit 1/3 if that gives you an idea.

Mike, as far as I know, Jayco vents only gray to gray and black is toilet only. We carry 80 gal in our fresh tank as well, plus another 10 in the water heater, but we have twin 40's to drain.

I'm a family of 4 and we can go 4 days without dumping or refilling. Haven't camped any longer then that so i don't know how long i can go. We take showers at the shower house at the camp ground. However we use the toilet in trailer. I only have a 28 gallon fresh water tank. After you use your camper a few times you will learn how to conserve water.

Military type showers ( on, off, on , off use 1 gallon per shower ) and carefully use of the kitchen sink.

Never seen any potable water at a dump station. Just to easy to contaminate it.

We can go 7 days on the black tank and only about 2 on the grey tank. We take a shower every other day and they are about 10 gallons. No navy shower here! Air Force has real showers.

We have a 35 gallon tote used for grey water only.

To answer the question of how long, my son and I just went a week on ours without dumping. Only one solid incident. It was all liquid. If the campground has a really clean bathhouse we use it as much as possible. (Mainly for smell issues, its a small enclosed camper!) But we do go to one spot that is very rudimentary. And no dump station. We have been four days with full usage with no problem. Truck stop down the road has a dump station. If that's an issue look for them at any truck stop. Most have them.
