Dicor crack and repair
Guys, I have ispected my roof in the fall and all looked good to me however, I wonder if when there is a crack the crack or defect in the Dicor are easy to see , in other word is it obvious when there is a crack ? I dont want to loose sleep over that and spend more than I have too....so whats your experience ?
I wont keep my trailer for more than 5 years so I dont want to spend money on tape, or rubberized paint or else, just plain old maintenance with a tube of Dicor and being able to sell it with no or minimal water damage
thanks

A 50' roll of 4" ETERNABOND is about $50. 5 tubes of Dicor is about $40. With the tape it's a one time job and shows the new owner/dealer that you did take care of the roof. Just my 2 cents.

You'll be able to see it before it happens if you give it a close inspection twice a year! When you repair it give it 110%.
Homer, we all owe it to the next owner to keep our trailers in good condition even in areas that we think they won't see. I look forward to the next owner of anything I sell to come back to me in a year or 2 or 3 and say "thank you " for taking such great care in that item I purchased from you.

Dude, keep it simple. when there is a crack in the Dicor use the same DICOR on the crack n U are done. When you repair it give it 110%. Use ETERNABOND on tears or other major stuff. Keep UR roof in top shape at all times.

And you never know. After using it 5 years, you may decide to keep another 5 or 10 years for some reason or another.

I agree with Grumpy.
I use Eternabond on a NEW roof to keep it worry free as possible.
The buyer of my other trailer was pleased to see I had taped the roof seams.
I kept the Eternabond labels to show I did not use a knock off.

I don't use the stuff for my own reasons and have other methods that work extremely well, BUT, if you do use it, just make sure you do it right. No doubt it is very good stuff, and is practically permanent. If you ever have to change out a fridge vent, or any other roof vents, well.....

For the question on what I do to roof seams, it's on the first page of this thread below. I can post pictures of the product if need be. Not everybody's cup of tea, but I've been doing this for years with very satisfying results. I like to experiment, a lot, and yes I have used Eternabond a lot in the past. Goes on like thick syrup, has a slick surface when dry, cleans very easy, and I've never had it crack or deteriorate. The product I used is more for the industrial setting and isn't sold at your RV places.

Bryzerman, Dicor is a company that makes roofing materials, sealants and other things. The dicor being referred to in this thread is one of their products, Dicor 501 / 502 self leveling lap sealant that you see on your front / rear roof seams, around vents etc.

How do you remove Dicor. I assume you just don't jerk building it up over the years.
