First tour with 197

We traded our 2008 197 for a 2012 197 with a slide-out. I took it over to Ethelbert, MB last week and stayed a couple of nights in the rink parking lot. Sort of boondocking, I guess. I spent a day waymarking cemeteries in the RM of Ethelbert, saw some nice country and met some really nice people.

I went alone, as my wife went back to work. No problems with the trailer. I can't say enough about the difference in the interior because of the slide-out.

2008 197

I just saw your post and thought how interesting. 1. We just purchased our first trailer...a 2008 197. 2. My father was born in Ethelbert in 1943 and grew up there. I spent many summers as a child in EThelbert from Vancouver. Our 197 is like new and we got it for a great price. So though we may not have a chance to use it this year, we are excited to have it for next season. Enjoy the new 197!

Well, that is neat! I plan to go back next year, as there are more cemeteries and other interesting things around Ethelbert to Waymark. You will enjoy your 2008 197. We traded ours in for the extra space provided by the slide-out. Thanks for sharing that!

Hey Guys,

How did you trade your Jayco in? Was it paid off already? I have a 2007 jayfeather 197 that I would like to trade in. Im still making payments. Is this possible?

Thanks!!

clossan1: We were still making payments. The salesman would have laid down in front of our old Sub to keep us there! We even changed banks and never had to leave the building. We had just bought the 2008 in 2011. It was like new when we bought it, and was still like new. We are "on the team" now, for sure. It was a good trade for us, as the floor layout is much better, plus the slide-out makes all the difference in the world.

The salesman flat out told us that they would have no trouble at all selling our trailer. Somebody will get a real nice little trailer, like new, for half the price of a new one.

Didn't really answer the question, did I? Yes, we still owed a fair bit of money on it. We changed banks for the loan(s). Of course, the second loan paid out the first loan, so we still owe, but all in one place. The TD (Toronto Dominion is fairly archaic on some of its services, so we changed to RBC( Royal Bank). With TD, we couldn't get a balance on our loan for the trailer online, nor could we get it at our local TD bank. With RBC, it is available online. Go figure....
