Holding Tank Guages on 165 Sport?
Hello,
I bought a 2007 165 Sport about a month ago.
I was surprised it did not have guages for the holding tanks, or at least I didn't see any and the prior owner wasn't aware of any.
I was just wondering if they are integrated into the convertor someway or this unit just doesn't have them
In the specifications, it states guages for each as "Standard"?
If there are no guages, I guess it's simple enough to look down in the toilet and see that level.
For gray water, I guess once you quit draining efficiently, it's time to dump.
Anyone knowing of guages on this unit would be appreciated.
Best regards,
Doug

I can't answer the gauge question, but as far as the grey goes, it will back up at the lowest opening which would be the shower.

I have a Jayco 2007 165 too and there was no gauge for the camper. We did one year without a gauge until the gray water overflow in the shower. I can tell you something, it stink. I almost think that it is worst than the black water because there is nothing added to it for helping with odors. I installed a Seelevel system. It has a gauge for gray water, black water, fresh water, battery and LP(which I didn't connect the LP). If you you would like more info just let me know and I could post some pictures for you. I love the product and there is no more guesses and overflow. It is installed on the outside of your tanks and as a better reading than what you would get on your TT from the manufacture.

Thanks FunJayco.
I believe I read your install post previously, so I was just reading through the SeeLevel installation guide. Looks like about $200 for the system.
Seems like a nice design and fairly straight forward. Sounds like a good option. Just not sure I'll have time to install between getting out of storage and leaving next Spring.
Thanks for the input.
Doug

Yes, I think I paid around that. I don't remember posting an installation, but I know I based mine on RVhiker's approach.

DougToms, you are not missing anything.... we have a 2010 JayFeather Sport 165 and gages quickly get fouled up. We know, by experience" what is in tanks. Although I am going to look into the SeeLevel system. If it is on the outside of tank it may be more dependable than those on inside.

Thanks Mueldawg,
I am going to look into the SeeLevel guages once I have some time.
I might find that I can manage without them.
RVhiker has a good write up on the installation.
Best regards,
Doug

Yep, no level gauges on ours either. We found out quick that with the grey tank closed the water can back up after a few quick showers. We usually just leave that valve open and drain/flush the black take every few days or so.
