Hummingbird 17RB

Just purchased a brand new 2017 Hummingbird 17RB

Downsized from a Greyhawk 31fs (due to bylaw restrictions on the length of vehs in driveways)

It's going to be difficult going from a 31' motorhome down to a Hummingbird but we are up for the task :-)

~ Liz from Canada :-)

Congrats.

Yeah, that's quite a jump!

We love our 17RK more and more every time we use it. It's so nice not having to worry much with length of campsites and height of overpasses, etc.

We go camping to enjoy the outdoors, so the Hummingbird fits our needs very well.

Enjoy !

We just finished a two month trip from Ontario to BC and back through the US, in our 2017 Hummingbird RB, our first trailer. Many have said our trailer is "cute", which really means small, but over the last two months travelling across the country, we've found that it's a good size for us. Most of our time is spent outside anyways.

Enjoy your new trailer!

You are right - camping is to enjoy the outdoors :-)

Looking forward to our first trip this christmas (Key Largo).

Then we will evaluate and see what mods we will need to make.

Thank you for the reply.

We are usually outdoors, except for rainy days.

Looking forward to our first trip and the mods that will come.

Congratulations and welcome to the world of towing your vacation room, not driving it.

Like others, we enjoy spending most of our waking hours outside, a bit closer to nature... but not 'tent' close.

Hummingbird 17RB

We have had our RB baja since October and just love it! Summer obviously it feels larger as we are outside all the time, except for sleeping. Every trip has been in BC, island and some interior. So far happy with the quality of Hummy, no problems to report except for the outside led strip which our dealer broke. Easy fix.
Enjoy your tripping!

After 41 nights of camping this summer in our Hummingbird 17RK we just traded it in for the Coachmen 215RBK.

Things that worked for us.
- Kitchen counter space was great
- Microwave convection oven was amazing
- Stowage space was unbelievable
- Portable outdoor table was very convenient

Things that didn't work for us.
- Dinette table too small
- Dinette seating very uncomfortable for any period of time
- Fridge too small to hold supplies even for a weekend
- Bathroom too small to even turn around in
- Mattress too hard even with a 3 inch memory foam topper
- The big complaint is the dark interior, feeling depressed and claustrophobic inside on bad weather days

Recommended things that might help you enjoy this trailer.
- Caddy in bathroom for amenities
- Portable electric fridge/cooler
- Screen room so you can get outside even on a rainy buggy day.

We offer our experience to others for their consideration.

All the best.

Enjoy that 17'er mine is just 21' and the size is just right for us using it for a home base when we're out for 8-11 weeks at a time. We'll venture out to around 150-200 miles for a few days or so at a time then come back to it. After about two weeks in that section we'll pick-up and take it another 400 or so miles and venture out all over again. For us it's a great way to see the real country section by section.

We enjoyed our Hummingbird RK, But after a month long trip from BC to Arizona. We decided to go bigger to a Jay Feather 23RSLW.

The one thing we had a had a struggle with is the wet bath. Traveling with two big dogs gets a little crowded.

We did enjoy the Hummingbird RK and learned a lot from it. We did upgrade to a dual 20lbs tank. At the end is what suits your needs and you won't be disappointed.

Thank you !!! We chose the RB because of the full bath. I think that is the only hummingbird with a full bath.

It is going to be "interesting" as we moved from a 31' motorhome but life is about new adventures and this certainly is one of those times.

Congrats on your new unit !!!

Thank you Yugo. Will probably upgrade to the 2nd tank now that you mentioned it :-)

No complaints, We stayed 3 months in Florida with our 2017 RB. Had a few minor issue, Led lights under recall, hot & cold water faucet needed swap. 1 vent on the AC was hard to adjust. All in All good little camper for me & bride of 43 years so far. Put 5400 miles on my TV. Heading back next winter.
