Insulating cargo doors

As cooler weather approaches, I would like to reduce the amount of cold air coming up under the dinette seats and thought insulating the cargo door and around it might help. I thought about just simply getting some bubblewrap and cutting it bigger than the door and hoping since it is flexible, it does not pull off as I open and close the door. That sounds pretty flimsy so looking for suggestions

Dealing with the door gaskets will be a better investment of time and effort.


The insulating factor of the doors and walls mean nothing when the wind blows right past the edge of a door, an ill-fitting window or between wall sections.

A while back, I checked the seals on my compartment doors (making sure they did not leak) and with the rubber gasket that is on it works fine (no light shining through). If you want to add a little more insulation, use Rigid Insulation board that can be purchased at Home Depot or any large home center. It comes in different thicknesses like 1/2", 3/4" and 1". You can put some heavy duty tape around the cut ends or contact paper... and glue it to the door... You can also glue it to the bottom of the bed boards
