Jay Feather 7 18RBM

hey everybody I'm picking up my first travel trailer the Jay Feather 7 18RBM this Saturday just wondering if anybody has any advice I'm a newbie to travel trailers. I may be living in this thing for a little while through our mild winters Outside of houston until I find some property or a new house.

Lil Tea I'm looking seriously at the 18RBM. How do you like it or dislike it. I can't find much on line from 18rbm owners. It has everything I want which is dinette and Murphy bed and sofa. I would appreciate anything you can tell me about it if you still have it.

Wife and I have a 2016 18RBM and are very happy with it. The Murphy bed is easy to lower and raise to put away. When the bed is up it's roomy enough for the 2 of us and our dog. The small overall size is nice as we can get in all the National Parks as well as the Calif. parks.

If you have any questions fire away, I'd love to help.

GarlickDude thanks for getting back to me. I'm looking at it for the small footprint as well. Can you tell me about any negatives or issues you've had with it. What size A/C do you have in it and does it cool things down. Floor plan wise it has everything I want in a small travel trailer. Thanks again for getting back to me.

Happy to help. I looked at the newer ones and the layout is a bit different than ours. Instead of a dinette we have a padded chest in the dinette area this is filled with our kitchen stuff.

Our AC is inside and cools it down very well, we have a couple of 12VDC mini fans to help circulate the air. We were in the Mojave Desert area last year and the AC performed well.

We have had no warranty issues on our unit and I would guess that we have about 10K miles of traveling with it.

The only drawback may be a lack of storage space, but that depends on how much stuff you camp with.

If your looking for a weight distribution hitch the Anderson hitch has worked well for us as well as others with the smaller trailers.

Last question is your A/C 13500 or 15000 BTU? I will be living in it full time for awhile into the summer so A/C concerns me. Thank you

Ours is window mount and 8000 BTUs, and works well for us so I would guess that either of the larger units would be just fine.
