Leaf vs. Torsion Bar suspensions

Hello we are finalizing the purchase of a 2011 Jay Feather Select 242. When looking at the brochures on line it seems that Jayco switched to leaf springs with a Mor ride equalizer on the 2011 Select models, then switched back to Torsion bars the following years.

Is this something I should be concerned about, and which is a better set up? I just wonder why the change.

I know I'm over thinking this but this will be our first travel trailer and I would like it to work out well.

Thanks for the help .Ted

Torflex is a much better suspension system than leaf springs. It is a independent suspension. Less wear and tear and less maintenance and a smoother ride. The disadvantage it can only be used with single and tandem axles (not triple)
I would take Torflex over the leaf springs.

Well I don't really have a choice Jayco put the leafs with the Cree equalizer on all their 2011 Jay Feather Selects (the year we are looking at) then went back to Torsion bars for the following years. Who knows why.

I did notice that most of the other Jaycos including the higher priced units also used the leafs with the Cree.
