Maiden voyage with 154BH to McKaskey Creek on Lake Allatoona, GA!
We had a great time on our first trailer camping excursion this past weekend! We didn't forget anything except, ahem...how to light the water heater. We were close to the public facilities so no biggie on the showers. Yea!!! Since we are also newbies "backing up" OMG...that's hard...we had reserved a pull-through. The park was practically empty (yea again!) so the nice folks at the check-in area moved us to a better pull through spot. I can see that we'll need to visit these sites to find our preferred place(s). Anyway, our spot wasn't quite level so we left the truck hooked up because of the odd angle. Here are some pics of our site, our "water view" (from the street in front of the truck) and the awesome beach where our daughter and two grandsons had been wading. Lake Allatoona is so close to home the family can easily visit and we will definitely go back.

Yep, we found the correct panel outside and watched a youtube video on lighting it. Urgh. Too many things to remember when you do a walk-through when you've never owned a TT before. We did bring the manual if we had really needed it.
I am wondering though...our next trip is in late Sept - should we drain the fresh water tank between these two trips? Should we disconnect the battery or just monitor it and hook it up to the house to charge if it gets low? These "non-camping" questions feel like more things we need to learn!

I always dump about a 1/2 cup of Chlorox in the fresh water tank and leave a few gallons in it for maybe a month.
If I am going to be home more than 2 weeks, I drain the hot water tank.
Glad you got the HW heater going. I've developed some habits (because I store my TT) - so I can sleep good between trips. I turn off my propane valve and disconnect my battery after every trip. I also drain the HW Heater. A few weeks between use probably wont cause bacterial growth in HW Heater...it depends on the water contamination, temperature, etc....
Before I hook up to head out, I reconnect the battery. When I make camp, I hook up the water and run the air out of the lines, then I turn on the propane valve and light the stove burners for about 1 minute....then I turn them off and light the HW Heater. Running the stove first will purge the gas line and the HW Heater pilot is more likely to light right away.
Definitely disconnect the battery if the trailer will not be plugged in. The constant drains on the battery can kill one in less then 2 weeks. Been there done that on my previous unit.
