Smile New Guy, 19H Feather EXP

Hi Guys and Girls, Jim and Carol here. Just purchased a 2008 Jayco 19H Hybrid, really cool rig. Looking forward to a trip this weekend to Dauphin Island just off the SW corner of Alabama. Pulling with a 2005 Ford SD Diesel and found I don't need hitch equalization but did add a sway bar. I did notice on the 19H there was a lot storage under the couch but difficult to get to. I added a handle to the bottom, front of the panel in front. Pull up slightly on the couch, grab the handle and pull up. I also added a hinged kick-stand that drops down to keep it open. Just wanted to say Hi. No problems yet.

Welcome to the world of Hybrid's! The 19H is awesome. It made our short list. We chose the 18XD as it has the third pop out bunk. My 14 year old needed her own space for her sanity - ours too. Shame we drive her so crazy

I pulled mine without the WD hitch for one quick errand and was impressed with how well it handled. With that said it was not loaded with people or gear so I was about 1300 lbs lighter than usual. With that weight added I would not want to tow without it. Such is the reality of using a mid-sized SUV to pull several tons.

A lot of 19H owners have posted their mods and I have copied many of them as our units use a lot of the same components.

Thanks for the responces. I did a demo for the wife and when the kick-stand leg dropped down she was sold. Think I'm ready for the camp out this weekend. Been 25 years since we camped, and that was in a Star Craft 6, pop-up. Have a nice week-end.

Photos of Dauphin Ise. Camping Trip

Carol and I stayed Friday and Saturday night at the Dauphin Island Camp ground, 30 miles South of Mobile, AL. The Hybrid did great, had a great time. Sorry about the photos quality but max size allowed to upload is 97K for a JPG.
