New White Hawk 29SQB Owner

Just put a down payment on a new 29SQB! Happy to finally be a Jayco owner! Any tips, advice, thoughts, likes, dislikes from other White Hawk owners? We moved up from a pop up camper so I have a lot to learn and some anxiety about towing and backing up at campgrounds! Any wisdom or advice appreciated!

Best--Jeremy

Welcome to the forum and congratulations on your new trailer. There is lots of great advice from great folks on this forum so ask away. When you get your trailer get the dealer to show you everything..... even the little things, bring questions, and if you can, video the walk through. Towing a large trailer is a learning curve for sure, but the more you do it the better or more comfortable you'll get.

Good news, now you get to make a list of all the new goodies you need to buy for the new trailer...

As for the whitehawk models, we love our 28dsbh.

Cheers

Congratulations! The White Hawks are big trailers and towing will take some adjustment. I've driven over 3000 miles with one in tow and backing up is still a challenge. It is true that it gets easier each trip.

Safe travels.

Congrats and Welcome! White hawk owner too. If you've been towing the Popup Im sure it'll be a quick learn for the new one. Mine was very intimidating and I had a bit of trouble getting it through the gate when I got it home (Only 4" on each side) But last weekend (2nd trip) went through the gate first shot! Trailers with the axles set farther apart from the TV are more forgiving when backing up.

Could you recommend a brand of tow mirrors that are simple and sturdy?

Thanks for the help!

Congrats on your Whitehawk. We picked ours up in april and have been loving it ever since.

The mirrors that i use are made by CIPA. here is a link for the ones i have.

http://www.amazon.com/CIPA-11800-Cus...+mirror+-+pair

They just slide over your mirrors and tighten with a thumbscrew.

Light switch in control center?

Can't figure out what the top light switch in the control center is supposed to turn on and off? During the walk through I was told it was for an outdoor light. But not seeing it turn anything on at all.

LLC If it is the outside shower light you are talking about, Peggy and I had the same problem.. It is odd but in order to get it to come on you have to flip the first (top left) switch on also. I don't know why it is wired that way. but that's the way ours works. Hope this helps.

That's wierd. I have a 31DSLB and also noticed a switch that didn't appear to do anything. I have not used the outside shower so have not encountered the issue however this coming weekend you can bet I will test it out and report back!

Enjoy your new White Hawk. My family loves ours!

They should label the switches... lol... it is for the outside light on the back side by the outside shower..... comes in handy if you need to see what you're doing at night on that side of the trailer. I still have to flick every power switch on to figure out which ones turn on which lights.

Thanks!

Bingo! Thanks for the quick answers about the outdoor light. My wife and twin three year old boys are heading out on our big summer trip to upstate New York this weekend and we are very excited to use the new SQB. Has anyone had guests use the dinette bed yet? The in-laws are coming for part of the trip and we are planning on putting them there. Hoping they are comfortable!
