Power Awning

So camping this last week and was leaving the campground and notice my awning was pulled out on one side. To say the least I must have caught it on something near the door of my 27ft 2017 DSRL and it pulled the gear out about 18" and of course the arms were bent. I seemed to have put the arms back as straight as I can. I have arranged to have it looked at, hoping the spring is okay as it popped the rivets of the cover which pulled the spring out like I said. Curious does anyone know if the spring just fits in on the other side where the motor is?

Not sure what awning you have. Mine is a Dometic and the motor is in the cap at the end of the roller on the right side of the awning if you are facing the trailer...
