Repair times poll

How long has the dealer/shop kept your TT for repairs? Going on one month here this weekend for us. All warranty repairs.

That is totally unacceptable. Are they waiting on parts????
The problem with our dealer is the wait for parts from Jayco and then the wait to set an appointment. Ours is generally 60 days out. Last time in I told them to set my appointment then and they did not want to do that until the parts came in. I told them I was not waiting 8 weeks for parts and another 8 weeks for an appointment.

Once I take it in they are usually done in one to two days.

Slide had ripped a hole in the linoleum. They were waiting for that to be repaired and yes had to wait on parts.

Had an appt to drop off the weekend before Labor Day so I'm sure half of the shop was already off.

It depends on the dealer. Our dealer takes it in on a work order with the stipulation if we want to take it anytime and bring it back we can. That is their new policy. Most repair times take at least on 6 weeks sometimes longer.

Our first TT was in the for repairs for over 13 months under the 2 yr warranty. The main wait time reason is Jayco had to send new linoleum for the whole unit and it needed to be installed. It took them too long to find a flooring installer. Had to take it back several times to get it reglued down. Lost a lot of camping time during that ownership.

We are 5 + weeks and counting.............all warranty. I have finally discovered why Jayco puts a 2 year warranty on their product. If you have warranty claims the process keeps you from using your RV for half the 2 year warranty thus reducing their exposure.

There are to many variables for any conclusions to be made by me.

I guess the discussion is good but every case may be different.

I pulled in one Sat. morning with a air conditioning problem and it was fixed while I waited. Another time I left it for 2 months waiting on parts.

The delay in getting parts is not on JAYCO's end it's their suppliers. Even their own Service Center has trouble getting parts. RV manufacturers are like many companies today, parts arrive at the facility as they are needed for the unit they are going in, they are not stocked.

Also today due to the sales volumes of the last few years dealers are swamped when it comes to warranty and non warranty work.

I pulled in one Sat. morning with a air conditioning problem and it was fixed while I waited. Another time I left it for 2 months waiting on parts.
Took Delivery of a Jayco 4212 on May 27 th, after walk thru had a significant laundry list of items.
Finally got it back June 18 th? First trip the transfer switch failed the first night. Couldn't use Gennie and had to use RV parks. Couldn't get the leveling system to level.
Got back and the pull pin on front Jack sheared off during auto level.
Still waiting on new Transfer switch on July 4 th trip, again RV parks.
Ice maker quit, sheared off another pull pin on Right front jack. Installed 2 nd transfer switch and it failed immediately.
Bought a transfer switch on Amazon.com and shipped it over night for install so we could go again.
Left for week of Boondocking in Rockies and first night the Invertor alarm went off at 4 AM.
Batteries dead and won't charge, turned out there is a 50 AMP fuse (not circuit breaker) in battery compartment had blown. Had to go home, however the motor on the front jack sheared off while hooking up.
Been at dealer since August 17 th.
Yes I have talked to Jayco for weeks..................not daily but 2-3 times a day.

Every situation is different..............................the 3 rd transfer switch came in and it failed, the 50 amp fuse Jayco said replace with am 80 AMP fuse? Still waiting on parts from Lippert.

UPDATE:

Dealer called with his usual Thursday call stating that they should take delivery of the linoleum on October 1st. Then they'll install it and will be able to get us going again.

sigh.........

15 minutes. Showed up, on it like a pit crew, 15 minutes later new fridge was in and was ready to leave. This was before our residential fridge mod. But, very good dealer that doesn't mess around. Ordered fridge based off of videos and email of the problem. No questions asked. Rare to find the service this jayco dealer provides.
