Spring? Spring? Where?

Oh man!! Just dying to get out and do some boondock camping! My wife and I are planning to set off for the Yukon this summer. We don't usually travel with any real firm plans.

Last summer we did a "scouting trip" up into the Peace River country with the car. We would come to an intersection, pull off out of the way, get out the map and decide which way we wanted to go from there. Had a ball! We will likely hook the old Sub (97 GMC 1500 4x4) onto the 197 and wander off, sometime after July 6. July 6 is the date of a planned milsurp meet and shoot at Virden, MB, so - first things first!!

Right now, we are in snow up to our.... belt buckles, so no need to get too worked up just yet!!

I am also ready for some warmer weather. Every weekend it seems it is cold and rainy..........and I live just north of Memphis. It should be around 70 degrees this time of year.

Not spring here in NY State, we might see 50 Easter Sunday, but 30's to near 40 every other day. By this time last year we had some 80's, highly unusual for sure, but nice. Itching to uncover the trailer and get her prepped, the trip plans are piling up, have to make sure she is ready.

There won't be any spring this year. We are going to be running the furnace one day, the A/C the next and it will continue that way till the end of September. My "spring" glass is half empty.

Just spent last weekend boondocking, it warmed up to mid 40's during the day, the coldest night was 18 degrees. We all stayed warm, no battery issues, no freezing issues, we still cooked all our meals outside using the dutch ovens and charcoal grills. The lake was partially frozen over, it was pretty awesome.

Cant wait for more trips, cold or not we will keep going whenever we get the chance
