Start of Maiden Voyage

After letting her sit in the driveway the last two months, SWMBO and myself finally are out in the new White Hawk 2O MRB! As this is the shakedown cruise, we are hoping all systems function as they should.

Not wanting to get too far from home, we picked a private CG pretty close to home. Dealing with rush hour traffic, we managed to get 8.6 mpg on the way. The Explorer Sport Trac had no problem moving the trailer and did well on several interstate inclines. As the trip was short, it was hard to get a feel where the Andersen WDH needs to be set.

Once we got the trailer backed into our site, the stabilizers (?) down and 2 of the 3 hook ups done, we are really happy with the interior space of this rig. The CG is tight with spaces that are, for lack of a better term, terraced. My sewer hose is a little short to make the distance.

It got up in the mid 80s here today. We are happy the air conditioner is doing what ut us suppost to. The fridge is cold and the water heater is making hot water.

Only complaint is the amount of rock and roll this trailer has. DW thinks she mày get seasick before the weekend is over.

Has anybody tried the BAL Locking Arm stabilizers?

Glad the maiden voyage is going well! Sounds very similar to our first trip ever last year, even had the same issue with the sewer hose.

As far as the stabilizer arms go, they make a world of difference. I put them on opposite corners and the TT is now much more solid. X-Chocks make a big difference two, but if you add them make sure you go with the extended ones to fit the WH wide stance axles.

You bought just one set of the stabilizer arms?

I found that the X-chocks help eliminate most of the " rock and roll" that is left over after the stabilizers are down.

New question: Anybody done a modification to the U dinette table?


There must be an easier way to get in and out of the dinette without having to maneuver through all of the metal supporting it.

Two sets, one each for opposite corners. The two corners each have a bar facing fore/aft and side/side. With the way our stabilizer jacks are positioned on the frame, for the side/side bar I had to bend the 'tab' that attaches to the foot of the jack.

Depending on how long we're at a site, I'll also use the x-chocks, and when I do the TT is rock solid.

That will be the first priority. 2nd will be replacing the dinette table. I see others have done mods on this same table and I want to thank all of them for sharing their solutions with us.
