Starting my Hummingbird Vlog

Update:

Here is the link to the vlog playlist

https://www.youtube.com/playlist?lis...iC_-Y2fwwHM02m

Ok, so I have been on youtube and looked at over 10000000000000 Jayco Hummingbird videos and they are ALL dealership stock videos. No mod's or just general Hummingbird videos.

Well I am new to this Vlogging and figure I will start my own. I just uploaded my first video which in my opinion not one of my best lol, but I am working on a video for de-winterizing my Hummingbird along with my full stereo upgrade video.

If anyone has any suggestions or ideas on things they would like to see then let me know.

If you want you can subscribe and keep up with all the videos I post.

We will be taking out first decent trip next weekend and I will be documenting it and showing my setup a little more in depth.

Until then here is my first video that I uploaded.

Thank you, I should have my de-winterizing video up within the hour. I will post it here also. Then time to start working on the stereo upgrade video. Got a lot of catching up to do since the new baby.

Perfect timing because I'm this >< close to pulling the trigger on dewinterizing.....I've just learned to never fully trust TN weather.

I'm going to need to disinfect the water tank also. I've read the manual about 10 times now.

Did you happen to notice if we have an in-line water filter at the pump?

There was no water filter at the pump. I am running just the regular inline camco before going in to my tank. To disinfect it's pretty easy. Just a little bleach and water in your tank. I use a 5gal jug to dilute the bleach water before pouring in to fresh tank.

Thanks for the video, it helped me with de-winterizing mine today.

I believe our TT does possibly have a small in-line filter right before the pump, it's a small clear housing.

We have an in-line filter that screws on outside, but the reason I mention it is because I read in the manual that if there's a factory in-line filter to remove the filter media prior to pumping anti-freeze through the system.

I didn't want to get side tracked so I didn't stop to really get a good look at it though.

I'm glad it helped, and I will double check it when I set up this weekend. We're going to Schreiner park in Kerrville TX

So I decided I needed a little more light when backing up rather then adding more lights to the truck I decided to add some LED’s to the HB. Here’s a link to the video.

Nice work!

If you decide that you want the lights to come on with your TV reverse lights there’s a tap from the center pin of the 7-pin capped in the electrical box.

That way you could have automatic activation for backing up and the manual switch for general lighting purposes. Win-win!

I may add a manual switch in parallel on mine as well.

I thought about that but I like that I can turn them on while setting up camp without the TV hooked up. I am thinking about adding a 3rd or 2 more lights under the back bumper. These lights made a world of difference when setting up this last weekend.

I was talking about dual power feeds, keep them wired to the switch like they are now and also wire a hot leg from the reverse light circuit in the 7 pin, that way they automatically come on when hooked to the TV and in reverse but also work off the switch you already have when unhooked. Best of both Worlds.

I will likely install a switch in the same location that you did and run the hot wire down to the factory electrical box on the front of the TT and tap into where mine are currently wired up to the reverse leg.

All you would have to do in run a wire from the electrical box up to the load side of your switch to have them also activate in reverse.

Not sure if the reverse lights would be energized while not in reverse if the switch on the jack were turned on while the TT was hooked up to the TV? If so, would have to add a diode inline on the new lead you run to prevent backfeed. Not sure if that would happen though. I could always jump from the 12V+ to reverse on the TV receptacle and see if the reverse lights come on.
