Swift 185rb

Our friends son and his girl friend are looking at this model of trailer. This is there first trailer, they have been tenting so far and want get up off the ground and away from the bears. They will be towing it with a 2009 F150, does it require a WDH hitch? Are there any common bugs to watch out for?

Wouldnt hurt to put a WDH on it and would help with the ride and but I'd say borderline on a 1500 truck.

We have a 185RB and tow with a 2011 Dakota 3.7V6. Great trailer and we really love it. Have done a lot of mods but that is another story.

we originally were not going to get a WDH but since we have only towed with it empty we decided it would be worth the investment and because of safety...we found one on craigslist so you may want to check there first ...people get rid of them all of the time

Sounds like this is a solid little trailer. I hope they get it, they are going back next weekend for another look. They looked at aused trailer for about 25%less money and it had dry rot through out it so they are seeing the value in a new trailer. List in Canada is $13900 and the used one was $8000. So if they get it for 11500 to 12000 they will be looking good. She always teases us to take good care of her trailer. They are a great young couple!

Just an update they found a used 2009 star stream ss19rb trailer that they picked up for less than the Jayco was. I haven't seen it yet but they are thrilled with it. We will be camping with them on the May long weekend which is the weekend before US Memorial Day weekend. This trailer had way more features than the swift with more headroom inside.
