Trip complete - successfully!

My wife and I got home from a 5500 mile tour of Northern Canada. We left from Grenfell (80 miles east of Regina) and struck out for northern Alberta, on to Yellowknife, NWT, back down to Hay River, NWT, down again into AB and headed to Whitehorse, YT.

To say we dawdled would be an understatement. We averaged about 260 miles per day. Had good experiences at the campgrounds. Some of the small town campgrounds go the extra mile to help get you a spot. The golf course campground at Lashburn, SK was full, but the clerk at the office rousted out "Ron" who must have been the host. He scouted out a good spot right at the edge of the parking lot, went foraging for a long hose so I could have water. "Here, use this one. I liberated it off one of the sprinklers on the golf course!" Onaway, AB also has a really nice hidden campground out of town called Imrie Park. Stayed there two nights.

We avoided the ones that were packed, and found some really nice out-of-the-way places to park. We only WalMarted one night, in Fort St. John. The WalMart parking lot in Whitehorse was a major zoo by late afternoon. Huge trailers parked every which way.

Our little 197 served us well, as did our 2015 F150. The Ecoboost didn't fly apart, as is usually predicted by the coffee shop experts.

Sounds like a great trip. It is not the miles per day but the sights and smiles.
