TV Talk ?

So my wife and I have decided next summer we will bring a TV(television) with us for camping. We saw how our purchased used Jayco trailer 2012 model comes with a crank up Antennae and a cable connection on the counter and I read in manual that if I push the tiny button beside the cable connection it sends 12 volts up to the antennae to activate the electronics so that I get a signal to our portable TV. MY question is I only seem to pick up one channel in my driveway (the local city channel) . Now that Digital replaced Analog signals do I need to buy some sort of black box , or does the trailer already have that aspect in the antennae. We live in Canada but we plan on also camping in the Michigan, has all of the USA switched to Digital now too ?
Any thoughts on capabilities of the TV's and antennas Jayco has on these Swift units?

Yeah, all US TV broadcasts are digital now. If your TV has a digital receiver, no boxes will be required.

Since I live in a rural area, I've managed to pick up a few stations while in the driveway. Nothing worth watching.

The TV, antenna and booster have been so useful while boondocking, they are this close >|-|< from being worth the effort to remove them from the trailer.

Make sure your tv is has a digital tuner. This will require you to manually select the ANTENNA option on your tv, then select scan and allow it to scan for digital channels.

Be sure to extend the antenna and turn on the antenna pre amp. The antenna can be rotated to point in the general area of the broadcast stations.
