Washed, now how to clean caulk?
Tonight we washed and scrubbed the exterior and interior. One thing left that's really bothering me...How do we get the exterior caulk clean? The caulk around the storage doors, electrical outlet etc. It looks yellow and dingy. We scrubbed with a small brush and a bit of comet, it helped but did not finish the job. Any ideas or help?

Sorry dont have anything stronger than comet, but if cant get it clean i would suggest scraping off with flat blade and re apply with some good caulk

That's what I was hoping to avoid. I recently removed and replaced the caulk in our master shower, what a nightmare...and the camper has so much more caulk to deal with.

Well if the discoloring or mold has got down into the caulk that be your only choice to replace good luck

That's a good point. I think tomorrow afternoon I will cut some of it out and see how deep the dirt goes.

Try ProtectAll. I know it sounds way too easy but it always whitens caulk for me. Give it a good spray, grab a terry cloth and rub it a little. It takes everything ive ever had on my trailer right off. Black streaks included. Don't know how deep into the caulk you have stains though...

If for some reason the caulk stain is too deep and it won't do it, you'll still love it for the rest of your trailer. Cleans glass, bugs, black stains, etc. It's the best all purpose cleaner I own. I use it on my truck to get the bugs off the grill easily. Oh and it's great for taking spots off awnings!

First time I saw this post and glad I did. My caulk is dirty and needs a good scrub to brighten it up, I'll look for it tomorrow.

I didn't know they had more than the one. The one I use is a cylindrical bottle with a yellow trigger. I believe it's there "flagship" product. I also think it's technically a polish and treatment. I'm not home now but I will be this evening and I'd be happy to look at it and verify if you would like. I get mine at Walmart. They have it at all RV places but Walmart is about half the price.

Sorry I meant to post this last night but I got busy. This is what I use. All Purpose Care. It waxes and cleans everything. As a wax though, I don't feel like it lasts as long as others. But it is easy to put on and cleans great!

Hopefully it works for you. Don't be afraid to use some product and really rub it into the caulk with a terry cloth. Good luck!

Just to set the record straight; it is not caulking but in the mfg's they use construction putty (available in rolls at hardware stores and lumber yards) at exterior side walls where they have cut outs. Just a little dish soap in warm water will clean the putty surroundings with some scrubbing.
