Which AC did you get?
Hello all. I'm in the process of ordering a x213. The standard AC is the 13.5, or you can upgrade to the 15. Does anyone out there have some feedback on the standard units capability? It will be me, wife, three young kids camping mostly summers in the north east. We are upgrading from a pop up without AC, so I don't have any experience with RV ACs.

Welcome to the forum!
The X213 doesn't have tent ends so the heat gain will be less than my 23B with two tent ends. The 13.5 will probably do just fine on that unit. One problem with going oversize on an A/C unit is that it will pull temperature and then shut off leaving the space clammy feeling as it hasn't been adequately dehumidified. An A/C system must run for a considerable amount of time to pull humidity from the air and a properly sized system is critical for occupant comfort.
The builder installed a 'too big' unit on my house when it was built and I forced him to remove it and replace it with one half the size. He warned us that we'd be sorry and the new smaller unit wouldn't cool the house properly and all that chestnut. Turns out he was the one full of hot air, not me. Now my house is comfortably dehumidified and cooled properly all summer long.

I didn't get 2 A/C units and wish I had. Following the same theory, its better to have enough than to be lacking. Go with the larger unit.

This isn't a one size fits all decision. Where will you be camping, is it a very hot and humid place? We have a 29QBH, which is a pretty big TT, and we have a single 13,500 AC which works well for us.
In California I don't have humidity to deal with, so that helps. However, we do live in a hot area of California so we camp where it's much cooler. At home when loading the TT we run the AC and haven't had any issues getting it comfortable even with 95*-100* degree days.
The only issue with going larger is it takes more power to run it. I don't have a 30a outlet at home, so I would be concerned that a 20a outlet with 30'+ of extension cord would have to much voltage drop to power a 15k AC.

We have the 15k but other than testing to make sure it worked when we bought the trailer earlier this year, we haven't used it.

I'm kicking around that decision as well. I'm the trailer you're looking at, 13.5 should be more than enough. I'm leaning toward the 13.5 as well because of the increase in amps needed for the 15. If you ever plan on running on a generator, you will have to step up in size to run the 15. It's not justified in a smaller trailer in my opinion.

We got the 15k unit and it works great but will blow a fuse if AC- Electric hotwater and maybe something else is on. I always turn off the electric hot water heater when ac is on.
If you put the reflective insulation in the windows facing the sun, it helps A LOT towards cooling when it's really hot outside.

In a trailer that size, I agree with mcfarmall, the 13.5 will likely perform a little better by removing the moisture. While my 5th has 2 13.5's, much of the time I will run with only one of them quite comfortably.

More is better. It's remotely possible for too large a unit to cycle too often to remove humidity. In a stick and brick, that's possible but in any type of trailer, it's not going to happen, they are simply too poorly insulated. The cost difference between the two is negligible and so is the current draw.
The reason anyone does not like the larger AC is because they don't have one.

We had the 13.5 in our x213. It would freeze us right out of there! Worked very well. If you're are camping in Death Valley, then maybe the lager unit.
