WhiteHawk Glacier Package?

I was on the Jayco website building what i hope to be my new unit and Glacier Package was available. Does anyone know what this is for the $179 price tag?

I googled it and it got a link to Jayco Eagle HT Construction, lists the Glacier package as extra insulation, sealed bottom and triple insulated tanks as well as some other heat related items.

Do you know or think that would be the same for the light weight units as well?

I came across the same question so I asked Jayco, this was their response.

Thank you for your e-mail and for your interest in a White Hawk by Jayco.

For this option the floor will have a layer of bubble foil insulation added for a total R value of R22. The roof will have increased insulation for a total R value of R26. The front wall, sidewalls and rear wall will remain the same.

Jayco Sales
Judy

Without it they are R8 in the ceiling, R5 in the walls and R7 in the floor

Looks like you got your answer from glcamp, I assumed it would be a bit different in an ultra lite. Gotta love your fellow Jaycoowners... a wealth of knowledge.

Thanks for the replies. Now i am in another delemma i just noticed a Jay Flight 28 BHBE when i was ready to get the Whitehawn 28DSBH now i have another project to research. I wish i could find a local dealer with both units side by side but he closest i found is half way across the country. So does anyone have any thoughts on these 2 units keeping in mind i could haul either of them without any issue. Thanks

It's heavier, longer, and taller. Aluminum skin vs. fiberglass. More options available including the bike rack that I wish we could get.

We seen both units at our local dealer, the 28BHBE won hands down, the dinette is a wrap around and slides out so you can have some extra room and the shower is huge as compared to the 28DSBH, the bedroom has a door not a curtain, there is a place to put your alarm clock in the bedroom, there is a ladder for the upper bunk, there is a couple hooks by the front door to hang a coat or two, there is a bench under the coat hooks with storage, under the TV there is a place to put your shoes out of the way, we ordered our 28BHBE in the middle of December and will be signing the paperwork this saturday, I have numerous photos of the interior if you are looking for some more

I wish my truck were able to pull it. Too heavy for us, everything sounds great except I like the fiberglass look vs. the aluminum.

I hope you love your camper when it comes in. I to wanted to put a bike rack on but the bumper only holds 100lbs max. I bet if i go to the PA Camper show i could see everthing but it would be only a 9 hour drive.:zombie:

This is a great link to an article about the White Hawk series, a must download and read for all White Hawk owners, or those considering them.
Talks about the insulation used and the glacier package, the benefits of wide stance axles, construction, slides etc.
Check it out

Ron, thanks for posting the White Hawk info. I have been researching and looking at the 28DSBH and 29SQB for a while now and I think you just sold me on getting one.

Hope it helps, I stumbled across it today and it is the best info I've seen on the White Hawk so far, much better than the dealers brochure, so I thought I 'd better share it. What I thought was really interesting was that they say the wide stance axles result in a smaller hitch weight. I sent an email to jayco asking them to explain further on this and provide a recommended % based on the wide stance axles. I also noticed that the tongue weight/UVW ratio in their floor plans ranges from 9 to 13 %.
I bought my White Hawk 30DSRE in November and haven't seen it since....it does occupy much of my dreams though. The good part of doing it this way is that you research everything and hopefully your ready when spring breaks. I've really got to tell you that this forum is awesome and has solved and answered so many of my questions and concerns. There are people here that have decades of towing experience and are willing to share and advise....we are truly privledged and should contribute as much as we can.

Ron

Thanks Katgar05,

I also did a lot of research on many trailers before pulling the trigger on the White Hawk. I can't give you advise from actual use, because I bought it late last year and have't used it....but I have heard from many that have traveled with White Hawk's and none seem to be disappointed. Anyway I am happy with my choice and I think if you go with the White. Hawk you will be too.

The only "Problem" we've encountered with our 29SQB is the wood back to the dinnette, it was broke when we picked it up so the dealer replaced. We took her out for the maiden voyage last weekend and the back broke loose when someone was getting up from the table. I personally think it should be a thicker piece.
