We are looking for a nice ladder for our new X213 don't know the height of the top bunk yet until we pick it up next week. What do you guys use? Where did you get it? And how long is it? Thank you.
We use cupped hands for the kid to step on. and she's stuck there until morning. Well she can get down on her own if need be, just not back up.
While a ladder would be cool, I'm just not sure how it wouldn't be in the way. It if sits flat against the beds, then no one can get into the bottom bunk. If it angles out, it's in the way of the bathroom door being fully open and the walking area.
I saw someone once use a rolling "barn door" type ladder in a camper that had these issues (ladder in the way). Kind of like the ladders used in a library to access upper shelves; it could roll from left to right.
Would there be room to add a rail that a ladder with rollers could use to slide left to right in this model (x213)?

Nope. Only a portion of the bunks are exposed; they are mostly enclosed by the bathroom wall.
I was thinking along the lines of country_mouse for the ladder, but I would fix it to the bathroom wall of my X213. I'd take proper measurements before ordering anything. I think it would be the best solution for the X213. It all depends if my 12 year old daughter has trouble getting in and out of the top bunk. On the other hand she loves climbing and jumping around.
Maybe two lengths of wood ( stained the color of the wall )attached to the floor and ceiling will provide the right support. Or carefully cut open the wall in the bathroom to add some support from there. Then add a small vanity over the hole for extra storage.
The bathroom wall has 2x2 studs in it (especially at the corner and the door frame). I made a ladder that didn't impede the door opening and sat it on the floor and screwed it into the wall. My 6 year old has no trouble climbing up it or down it and it doesn't get in the way of anything.

It may inter fer a bit. But we only have it down when needed. I toss it on the top bunk when not in use. During the night when bunk is in use, I slide it to the right, next to closet. That way both lower and upper bunks can exit if needed during the night. It also clears for use of bath room. You can also trim the bottom legs to make a custom fit for your needs. The bottom rubber feet are removeable so you can cut them to fit, then just slip them back on.
