12 Volt Power Point Hook Up

I want to instaul a power point in our RV so we can run a computer or phone charger while traveling.
The generator in kaputsky. Nothing but a big open space under the Camper.
There is a 12 volt panel under the table with extra spaces for blade fuses.
I hooked up a power point there and plugged my computer in.
After a few minutes the plug on my computer was too hot to touch. ????
What did I do wrong or is this just something that happens?
Is there a way to fix this????
I really don't NEED this power point. Can just plug into the dash but it would be "Nice" to have.
