2000 Norcold problems

Hi all. I bought our trailer (2001 Jayco Kiwi 17a) three years ago. The fridge is a Norcold (not sure of the model- I'm not with the trailer right now and don't remember). It's obviously 17 years old now so I guess I can expect issues. We've used it about eight times now without a problem but this past week it basically quit working on propane. The freezer was cold but not frozen and the fridge just got too warm. It indicated that it was running and we had plenty of propane. I'm going to put it on shore power when I get home from work today and see if it starts to chill and determine if it's just a propane problem. Any suggestions from you veteran RV'ers out there would be appreciated. Just not ready to buy a new one right now but just might have to. Thanks

Be sure your burner is clean and correct flame, that's my yearly maintenance.
Those older fridges are a lot better than the newer ones with china electronic crap.

You didn't mention what the outdoor temperatures were. When temps rise above 90F or so, theses gas absorption fridges start to loose effectiveness pretter quick.

Also, check the door gasket. Any leakage there will run up temps inside the box.

Some install a 4" PC fan behind the fridge (condenser area) for better airflow over the condenser. I did and it improves a lot. And some install inside the fridge a small PC fan for circulation.

Okay, I plugged into shore power and the fridge seems to be working fine. I cleaned out the jet on the burner and looks like I have a good flame with propane. I need to run it for a while now to see if it will get cold. I guess the question I have is- since it seems to be getting cold on electicity, and when switched to propane there is a good flame, what could preclude it from getting cold?

Is the vent above the fridge to the roof unobstructed?
