2016 338rets insufficient cooling
Outside temp 84, inside temp 78, vent outlet temp 59, unit running all day. 15K AC unit. Is anyone else having a problem cooling their trailer with the one AC unit. Yesterday it was 95, we had to lock up the trailer and go home.

That unit is performing as designed (20 degree drop) however no way will one unit cool a trailer that big on hot, humid days.

I'd bet it's a much drier 78 degrees than what's on the other side of the wall. We have a single 15k unit on ours and cooling to 74 when its 90 + out simply won't happen. I can extend the 2nd awning to keep the sun from competing with the AC but the more sun, the less likely we are to stay below 78.

John,
A few things will help your AC:
1. Orientation -- Position your awning to the West if possible. This keeps the side of your trailer in the "shade" of the awning a majority of the hottest part of the day.
2. Shade your windows on the side that faces the sun---small awnings or Reflectix would work. Lots of heat gain through windows and window frames.
3. Select a shady spot whenever possible. This reduces your overall solar gain.
4. Get a second AC!

It has been in the mid 90's for several weeks now down here. We struggle to keep it under 80 degrees with TWO units at the peak of the day.
Glad I went with the option for a second unit.
Still feel more powerful units should be provided as an option for those who like to camp in the summer here in the South.

Is the second AC unit connected to the main duct work or is it a through the roof with a ceiling grill.

It is not integrated into the Quiet System the main A\C unit is ducted with. The one in the bedroom is through the roof with a ceiling grill.
I wonder how hard it would be to integrate a 3rd unit? If they do not make them any bigger, than there is really only one solution.

I still believe the black cowling on the ac unit is a big mistake .... got to keep hotter than white

The AC duct work is in the ceiling, the roof is the hottest part of the unit, the cold air has to cool the ceiling before it cools the space. I wish they had the ceiling chill grills to be able to cool the space instead of the ceiling. It might help.

Move to Canada. This way you won't have to worry about cooling issues, or Trump.

I was in nashville last year 90+ deg. 2 AC worked fine friends with us 1 AC not so fine

Haha...wow..what did John ever do to you to wish him such misfortune about moving to Canada.. 
That's the frying pan into the fire lol
We have Trudeau and winter..  run run!!
In order to get more than a few months of camping each year John will be investing in furnace upgrades, $600 Dyson heaters, 100lb propane bottles and all kinds of insulation and heat wraps. Plus snow blowers, shovels, etc etc. lol. Easier to get another AC and enjoy the south!
Just my humble 2 cents all said with tongue in cheek..
