294bhs water leak

Hello, the water line to my hot water tank is leaking in the cabinet under the water tank behind the fuse panel. On city water it does not leak. Only when the pump is on using the water tank. Any idea how I can look behind the fuse panel to see the leak? 2 of my buddies and I cannot figure out how to access that area

It's odd that it doesn't leak via city water connection, unless pressure is lower then the pump. What model year is your 294BHS?

Normally it's one of the connector fittings on the HWH that leaks and in most cases needs to be tightened.

Hopefully a JOF member with the same model will chime in with some feedback.

It is a 2013. If I was the original owner the 2 year warranty would cover it. I bought it second hand and it is not transferable. I was on a slight angle so I am hoping that it has not been leaking the whole time and only noticeable now.

My HWH was leaking a little from one of the fittings I mentioned in my prior post, tightening alone didn't help but a little plumbers tape around the threads did the trick.

Do to the location of your electrical panel near your HWH, there may be a wood side panel that is held by screws that may provide HWH access.

I do not have a picture to post but will try to get one.
I do have the hot water tank panel removed. The problem is it is in a cabinet. The hot water tank is on the 2nd shelf on a plywood shelf. There are appx 1 inch holes drilled in the ply wood where the waterlines come up to the tank. I cannot figure out how to get to the empty area under the HWH shelf that is a big empty cavity and has the fuse panel on the front of it.
I am wondering if the fuse panel is on a hinge or if the whole panel will pull out from the cabinet thus exposing the water lines behind it that are feeding the HWH. I assume that there must be a foot of service length on the electrical to remove the panel out of the cabinet?

Never ran across an RV electrical panel/box on a hinge, and as far as some service length of cable/wire, well, it's an RV so it very's from one unit to another.... no consistency. I had to get behind my panel a couple of years ago (converter/charger mounted to the back of it), mine had maybe an 8" service length and it was a tangled mess, had to disconnect a few wires to get it out far enough to get my hands behind it.

Before you dive into it on your own, give Jayco Customer Service a call (have your VIN handy) and asked them how to get at it, they put it in there

Thank you for the tip. i will call them if the dealership I bought it from does not step up. I am glad I caught this now instead of watching antifreeze run all over my floor when I winterize in a few weeks.

One thing, curious minds want to know how the HWH tank is accessed, so if you get a chance find out......, plus you may need to know sometime in the future
