30 amp extension cord
If you needed to use one to connect to shore power and it is raining is it okay if water gets in the connectors??
It is not standing water just rain.

You won't have a unless you douse it with salt water. If it was a problem the manufacturers would make them water proof.

I always try to keep mine out of the rain with a bucket or something to keep it out of the rain. Just extra careful.

Please clarify. If you are talking about the main power cord from the TT to the post, then it's totally fine. The hood on the power post should close down over the cord when plugged in.
If you are using some sort of adaptor or extension cord, where an open connection is exposed to rain, you should at least try to protect it.

Yes the main power line. The pedestal is to far away to use just the main one. Needed a extension.

I have a second 30A cord that I have to connect to the main line about 50% of the time - because, like your case, the pedestal is too far from the trailer. I've found the connection to be very secure & watertight. Nevertheless, I always put a couple of wraps of Saran Wrap around it. It helps keep the lines from pulling apart if someone trips over one of them. And if it happens to rain, it's just a little insurance against water intrusion. An ounce of prevention, and all.

You guys worry too much! If it ain't broke don't fix it. Of course the last time I used my boat I forgot to put the drain plugs in and my boat sank. lol

A friend had to use an extra 30 amp to connect to a pole on our river lot. It popped the breaker several times so he took an old tupper ware container and cut two notches in it. Placed his connections in the container and put the lid on. No more blown breakers.

I like the container idea. You could even cut up a disposable glad ware container.
