50 amp to 30 amp

We just ordered a 17 Jayflight 32BHDS. This will be our first Jayco and we are very excited. I love this forum and have learned so much already. Overall Jayco owners seemed to be pretty happy with their units. This may be a silly question however I do not know a lot about electrical. Is there any issue running from a 50amp to 30amp reducer?

I ordered it with 50amp service and 2nd a/c prep. I decided not to get the 2nd a/c at this time because if I don't need it then why spend the money. I did get the 50amp so if I decide to add in the future I am all set. Since I am not running a second a/c I don't believe there will be an issue and if i get a site with 50amp then I will have the extra power if I need it.

Using the adapter will not be a problem. You will be limited to 30 amps total use.

However, if 50 amp is available at the pedestal I recommend using it. The 50 amp receptacles are generally in better shape than the 30 amp.

Completely agree. Having the adapter is a good thing anyway, and when given the choice, take the 50 amp hookup.

Guess I'm the odd one again. I use the 30amp most of the time and only drag out that heavy 50amp cord if I plan on running both A/C's. Never and issue as long as you don't run the A/C and Micro wave at the same time.

I'm with you on this one. Dragging that 50 amp cable out if you move with any regularity is a beast!! A 50 to 30 amp dogbone attached to a 30 amp cable is a lot easier to handle and works just fine if you only need one AC..
